It’s a Blue Monday post. I was listening to some New Order the other day.
This is also part of China Glaze’s Summer 2011 Collection called Island Escape.
I decided to play with the LaRosa crackles, too!
Happy Monday! I’m trying to be perky, but I’m currently going through a tiny bout of insomnia. Mostly due to allergies…thanks to the angry little dust bunnies I had inadvertently stirred up. I should’ve let sleeping dust bunnies lie, right? *sneeze* Maybe not. Anyway, I decided to slap on the metallic crackles from LaRosa. I’ve been avoiding it for weeks now and I figured I’d better get it over and done with before I start to get annoyed with myself. I hate it when I get things and then just put it aside. I’ve decided to be more diligent about using the things I purchase.
I’ve finally decided…I’m not a fan of crackles/shatters. I hate that they make my manicure look gross and unpolished. While I’m a fan of seeing a color underneath, it’s that crackle/shatter effect I find revolting. That said, I’m going to be having a cracklin’/shatterin’ giveaway soon because I don’t want them in my collection. It’ll be La Rosa and all 12 of their crackles, so stay tuned!
That said…I present 2 crackles:
This brand is relatively new and their foray into polish has been crackles. What I have here are only four of the 12 colors available. I skipped out on some of the other colors because I already have a black crackle/shatter and similar ones thanks to China Glaze.
These are different than China Glaze, though. See how and why after the jump.
I’ve never heard of this brand before, but my awesome nail polish guy had this. At two dollars a bottle, I really couldn’t say no. I don’t think you would either!
I felt that posting a nail polish with this name was a bit ironic given that it’s pouring down rain. I felt that maybe, just maybe, we could do with a memory of our world famous California Sunshine. Well, I know I needed it. I hope the rest of you California girls (and non California girls!) enjoy this color for today.
It was such a great shade of red that popped I felt the urge to slap some China Glaze Crackles on them. Some could say I ruined a beautiful shade of polish, but to be honest I was just curious and well…sometimes good things come out of my curiosity. Sometimes not so much. I hope this is one of those not so much moments.
I know I said I was crackled out thanks to OPI, but I think OPI really underestimated the crackle thing. People love it. I think it’s ok. I think CG definitely kicked OPI to the curb on this – 6 colors. OPI did only one.
I once told myself that I wouldn’t purchase another crackle nail polish. I even mocked Dior openly on Twitter for being almost a year and a half late to the crackle trend. Then I saw it – Dior Golden Jungle nail polish. The swatches made me swoon.
Magnetic nail polish seems to be on everyone’s radar…and when I first saw it, I had to have it. That was over 4 years ago. Now it seems like this will be the trend for this year. That crackle shiz is tired and old. I hope it doesn’t happen that way for metallics.
Come on over and see what I’m offering!
Friday Reds! Yes, I said reds. It’s plural. How so? Nail polish, lipstick AND eyeshadow? That’s how! Yup. This is one post that has it all…after the jump!
I hope I don’t make your eyes don’t bleed.
