Ginger & Liz Boss Lady

It has been so long since I have done a Friday Red, I felt like I had no right to do so. Then I remembered – just do it. So here it is.

I know I’ve waxed lyrical about Ginger & Liz. Can you blame me?

Lately I’ve been a sucker for reds like this – not quite a true red, but it has this small tinge of orange to warm it up ever so slightly. It’s so slight I can still carry off this color in a very good way. We’re talking young and hip way, not old lady Florida with my pants pulled up high kind of way. I loved this color on me. It felt like it was a good transition color from summer to fall because it had a bit of both that worked for me – end of summer, but not quite fall. Being back in California certainly makes me feel like summer hasn’t ended. According to my car yesterday, it was 85 outside. UGH. It’s fall…come on! I want to start wearing my warm coats and dark polishes. Well, I wear dark polishes any time of the year, but you know what I mean!

Ginger & Liz Boss Lady is described on their site as “This scarlet/sunburst red is hot like fire and far from the run of the mill red lacquers out there. It jumps off of your fingertips and speaks volumes for itself. Whether donning a classic designer clutch with peep toe Mary Janes or a vintage fringed handbag with rustic motorcycle boots; Boss Lady sends the message out loud and clear. You’re the Boss, Lady.”

As usual, the formula for Ginger and Liz is superb. I’m not saying it because I’m a fan girl, but they have consistently good results. I have quite a few bottles of their polish (13 at last count, but still growing!) so I know what I’m talking about.

Aaaaanyway, I’ve strayed. Sorry. This particular shade had a super high glossy shine and I almost didn’t put on a top coat. However, I wanted to be out the door and be able to shove my hands into my purse if need me. So I put on my favorite fast drying topcoat – Poshé – and was out the door in twenty minutes, happy with the knowledge that I could scrounge in my bad somewhat safely and not ruin my mani. I wore this color for 5 days and it lasted perfectly – no chips, no snags. I even got the tip of my thumbnail caught in the zipper of my bag and this color didn’t budge! Way to go awesome formula. Fast drying with a high gloss. A+ again, Ginger & Liz.
