Anyway, the color up for show today is Jade Dragon. It is part of MAC’s Nail Trend F/W 2010 collection.
I loved, yet loathed, this color. Why?
Because it was so incredibly hard to capture this polish color on camera. To make matters worse, it wasn’t representative of the bottle color once it got on my nails. In the bottle, this sucker flashed such a gorgeous green-blue color with the promise of a sexy smattering of glitter. What I got was a thin, jacked up formula that had ridiculous tendencies for cuticle pull. Formula was quick drying. However, this was a slow removal process because the small smattering of glitter ended up being the kind that liked to cling like white on rice. Then I had to deal with the stupid polish staining my fingers this odd blue green, despite a heavy handed application of cuticle oil to prevent such an occurrence. Didn’t happen. Grrr…All of these colors were a 3 coat kind of formula. Despite that, I still had VNL. I’ll be posting a picture of *gag* Concubine for a Friday Red, despite my misgivings for the negative name.
This was the best shot of the color in the shade – you can see the faint gleam of glitter on the nail, but notice how it practically jumps out at you when you look at the bottle? Not representative of bottle color. BOOO!
This shot looks a bit better, but still it’s not really a jade green to me. I have lots of jade – purple and green. My mom has a jade dragon, too! I should’ve taken a picture and put it here so you can all LOL with me. On me, this color looks very British Racing Green, doesn’t it? I still wasn’t terribly impressed, though I did think this was a pretty shade.
