Life’s been a bit crazy – my favorite aunt who happened to have been my matron of honor when I got married died from a heart attack at the end of May…Memorial Day weekend, to be exact. Not sure what’s up with my family insisting upon dying either on birthdays (my grandmother died on my mom’s birthday!) or going into the Memorial Day weekend — my cousin died May 23, his mother died May 26 and my aunt just died on May 25…I joked and claimed May 24 as my day! My cousin was not amused…
Anyway, it may sound glamorous to some, but I’m off to Honolulu, Hawaii, this week. Not for fun, but for the funeral! My aunt died on May 25 and we’re literally burying her a month later. I guess that’s how island time moves? Not sure, but it’s a ways off, don’t you think?

I now offer for your viewing pleasure Metallic Sage from Estee Lauder. Released for Fall 2011, it was part of their Modern Mercury collection. While it’s somewhat hard to find, if you can find it, snatch it up! I love this color – not quite an army green or an olive base, but still the kind of green that I would knock people over for. It’s very subtle and quite restrained. To keep this color from being a bit on the dull side, they threw in this shimmer that’s copper with a hint of gold. Fucking GENIUS! I have been wearing this color a lot. It’s been my go-to ever since I purchased it…and I need to go easy on it before I run out.
Formula was a bit difficult and it was patchy in some parts. You can see it in the application. It was opaque in two medium coats and dried relatively quick, which is a blessing when the hotter days roll around.
