Chanel Diwali

Chanel Diwali is a color I had kept putting off buying.

Why? Because it was not cheap. It was $30.00USD. Do you know how much food I can buy with that? OMG THE FOOD FOR THE PUPPY!!! It didn’t break the bank, but it did make me feel a bit guilty for spending that much. Very rarely do I feel guilty about purchases, but for some reason this bottle of Chanel Diwali really threw me over the edge.

That said, once I got it, I had no regrets.

For those of you aren’t familiar with what Diwali is, it’s the Festival of Lights. Last year it fell on November 12 – my mom’s birthday!

It’s a beautiful thing to behold — here are a couple of shots when we lived in India. This is some crazy sand stuff they did…it’s AMAZING. This is another image of the girls doing the sand stuff. They worked for my husband. Aren’t they wonderfully creative?!

Anyway, Diwali is a gorgeous color and frankly, part of the reason why I put off purchasing it is because I look AWFUL in gold. However, this has enough of a cool undertone for me to carry off. It’s such a gorgeous color I’m even wearing it as I type…and I have so many other colors to swatch! I just can’t keep it off my nails.

In some light, Diwali looks almost like a silver-gold. In others, it looks pure gold…pure beauty.

Formula is like butta…seriously. Like butta. It applies smoothly and effortlessly. Two medium-thin coats and this bad baby dried quickly. It dried so quickly it surprised me. I didn’t even need to use a fast drying top coat. It was a bit on the not-so-shiny-side, but it was still gorgeous. I did, however, end up using a top coat – I couldn’t NOT use it. It’s a habit for me.
