CND Dark Amethyst

CND is a brand I have many bottles of…but have yet to wear. I’ve done the mood ring manicure, but I wanted to see how their cremes were and I decided that CND Dark Amethyst was the way to go for me…

CND Dark Amethyst was part of a trio of polishes that CND released for Fall/Winter 2011. There was another color in the box and a sheer gold top coat, but that’s for another time. 😀

CND Amethyst was a bit of a disappointment to me. I did two medium-thin coats and in under 48 hours, it chipped. It was nice and glossy when it dried, but the drying time alone took forever and a day for me. I got so antsy waiting for it to dry. Was it worth it? No. I don’t like polishes that I pay a pretty penny for to chip in under two days. It’s aggravating. It’s irritating. Why? Because this was such a gorgeous color…it’s a nice rich, warm and yummy plummy color that, had the formula been better, would become a go-to purple for me.

I did a tiny bit of nail art…by my definition. I have a set of dotting tools in my possession and thought I’d give this a shot. I used Essence Holograhic 04 Prism@tic White and Ruby Wing Zen Garden, which is a color changing polish. It starts out lavender in color and turns a gorgeous shade of burnt orange when in the sun. I know I haven’t swatched it yet…I had originally chosen Zen Garden because it was sunny when I started. Sadly, it didn’t stay that way.
