The descriptions alone for the New Bohemian got me all crazy, then I saw the promo shots. TO DIE FOR! I happened to go to my nail polish guys the other day and there they were… China Glaze New Bohemian display. *swoons*
Formula was fast drying enough, but it was a hot day when I swatched these, so please keep in mind it bubbled in between coats, but that is my issue and not the formula for the China Glaze New Bohemian collection. There was decent color shift in the colors themselves, but actually capturing any of them has proven to be a pain…So what you will see is some pretty colors with great opacity, but no shift. It’s there in person and in the bottle, but not in the photos. Sorry…i did my best.

Unpredictable is described as a “Multidimensional gorgeous green“, which was stated in their press release. Rare & Radiant is an “Extraordinarily rich gold”. I couldn’t agree more. Of the entire collection, I felt these two had the most dramatic and noticeable color shift. Sadly, these are colors we’ve seen before. However, these are much more affordable than other brands (Chanel Peridot, anyone?!).
No Plain Jane is a “Lavish lavender-pink” and I think that with my skin tone, that pink reminded me of one of my favorite stones – a tourmaline. Swanky Silk is a “Brilliant beige with peach undertones“. I think that’s why it didn’t work that well with my skin coloring.
Want My Bawdy is a “Sexy sapphire blue” and Deviantly Daring is an “Adventurously bold peacock teal“. What WMB fails to convey in the picture is this slight undercurrent of purple. My camera could not capture it, but it was noticeable in person. This was an extremely flattering color for me! However, when I applied DD, my heart stopped. I don’t like teals. I buy them thinking I will like them, but once on me, inevitably something is wrong like while dusty in the bottle, it doesn’t look so great on me or it’s just flat out not the kind of teal I want or was looking for. While DD has a shimmer, this shimmer works with this particular shade and I really love it.
Overall, the China Glaze New Bohemian collection rocks it – lovely bold colors that look much better in person than they do in a photo. Like it enough to enter my giveaway? You do? Here is what you have to do…
