I was able to score all four colors thanks to my very generous husband – Mr Carinae – who told me (after I complained that they were expensive and I was hesitant to purchase them), “Just get them all, honey. Get whatever you want or feel you need.” Bad thing to say to a girl who wants a $60 bottle of nail polish on eBay. EEP EEP. It’s ok, I found a somewhat cheaper thing I want. Somewhat.
Aaaaaanyway, Dior Exquis is part of their Vernis d’Or 2011 Holiday Collection. All the polishes in this collection have a gold theme. This one is no exception. It is, by far, my favorite of the colors. The base is this lovely taupe. It already had me right there because I am a huge fan of taupe/mushroom colors. I was a bit hesitant about the gold in it and I decided to give it a shot. I’m not a fan of gold…why? Because it doesn’t flatter me. It’s too warm for my skin tone. I do envy people who look fabulous in gold, but on me, gold looks flat out tacky and gaudy. I’m tacky and gaudy enough as is, but to throw gold on top of it? Nuh uh. No thanks. I’ll pass!
This collection consists of two red-golds, Exquis and a gold polish. I will be featuring them later on in the coming weeks.
Before we go on to the pictures, I have to say that Dior Exquis is a fabulous color with fabulous application. Dior is fast becoming my favorite nail polish. I think I just heard my husband and my wallet scream in sheer panic. They should worry. 😉 On that note, I loved that this color was opaque in two coats. It didn’t dry fast, but it didn’t dry slow, either. It didn’t push my patience, so that’s always a good thing.
Anyway, on to the pictures. Hope you enjoy them.
As always, please right click on the thumb nail. Click on the thumbnail in the new tab. That will take you to the original image size so you can see the detail of this fab polish.
