China Glaze Hologlam swatches. Image heavy — thirty-six (yes, 36) photos…you have been warned!
First and foremost…I think China Glaze’s Hologlam collection is in no way like their Kaleidoscope or OMG collection….and to be honest, I almost wish they hadn’t released this collection. It’s a bit of a disappointment with a couple of standouts that don’t make this something that everyone should have in their stash. The holos here were not as blingy, but man oh man, they were just as fussy! Luckily I had my trusty Aqua Base from NFU Oh to work with the China Glaze Hologlam collection.
Each of the colors you see below were two coaters that dried in some record time. Now if you don’t have any form of Aqua Base from any line of polish, it’s ok, but you need to realize you are going to have to work super fast because if you don’t, you will be prone to having the polish totally “tear” in terms of brush strokes. You will have bald spots that are near impossible to fix. If you can grab some Aqua Base, go for it.
If you happen to live in the San Jose area, you can get NFU Oh’s Aqua Base at San Jose Beauty Supply. Small note about SJBS: they do rock, but make sure you don’t buy the stuff that’s in the window…it’s in direct sunlight and it messes with the formula.
Anyway, on to the pics! My comments will be listed under the pictures.

Get Outta My Space is A cool toned lavender holo. This feels very ho-hum in that I have this in my stash…from other brands and hell, even China Glaze itself when it was in their first effort at holographics.
Astro-Hot is a deep baby pink that has a metallic aspect with a very strong holo that is prevalent in the sunlight and flash. It was barely discernible in the shade.
Infra-Red? I think they were going for a red holo here…at least I’m just going by the name. However, it ended up looking more pink-y, magenta-y with my skin tone.
When Stars Collide is one of my favorites out of the China Glaze Hologlam collection. It’s a beautiful deep plum. Also, the holo in this is really trying to not shine, but it does.
Not In This Galaxy the least out of the China Glaze Hologlam collection. It’s too…kind of like English rose got hit and run over by a giant peach. It had shades of pink undertones with peaches. Just…no.
OMG A UFO isn’t quite like L8R G8R from the OMG collection, but it’s a bit deeper and prettier. L8R G8R was a lime color while this is the more grown up, adult version. The holo is barely discernible, but it does come out and play here and there. You just have to be in the right light for it to happen.
Now when I saw Don’t Be a Luna-tic, I giggled at the name. Well played, China Glaze. Well played. Sadly, despite its funny name, this shade is no laughing matter. I was hard pressed to find the holo in shade, flash or sunlight. Even in various indoor lighting, it was not coming out to play.
Sci-Fly By is nothing to write home about out of the China Glaze Hologlam collection…it’s a cool toned darker baby blue. Ho-hum.
Take a Trek is a blue-grey that is cool toned with a less than strong holo.

Strap On Your Moonboots in the China Glaze Hologlam collection was a bit of a mystery to me…It’s a mystery that I actually LOOOOOOVE it so much. There is something about this blue that is so lovely that I will be wearing this for a few days. I’ve heard some say this is a navy blue, but it doesn’t look very navy on me. That said, I still love it, though!
Galactic Gray on me isn’t so much gray as it is…brown? When I read the name, I was baffled. It’s kind of…mushroom. Maybe taupe? Either way, I was truly loving this color on me.

Cosmic Dust out of the China Glaze Hologlam collection could be viewed as a dark gray holo. While it’s not as dark as I’d like it to be, it’s still very pretty and shows flash and attitude!
So what do you think of the China Glaze Hologlam collection? Would you run out and get them all or are there only a select few you will grab?
Thanks for making it this far and reading. If you like what you’ve read, please share this.
