China Glaze – L8R G8R

Several years ago, China Glaze released a line of holographic nail polish that caused quite a stir within us polish lovers. At the time I purchased a few colors that I felt were the ones I needed. Since then I’ve been dying to get the entire collection because they discontinued the Kaleidoscope and both of the OMG collections. You can, if you’re lucky, find some of the original silver capped bottles languishing in some nail polish supply stores.

They started out with the Kaleidoscope collection, then they added the OMG 2B HOT and OMG 2BKEWL. 2BHOT was the warmer toned shades of the holographic collection, gorgeous yet failing thanks to my gimp skin tone. 2BKEWL was the cooler colors and they looked great on me. I have all the colors of 2BHOT and 2BKEWL, but am missing half of the colors for the Kaleidoscope collection – boooooo.

Today’s offering is from the 2B KEWL collection:

As it has been said by many other nail bloggers, the pictures don’t do this polish justice.

Formula is really thin and super runny. In these pictures it was 4 coats, but only because the polish dried so fast that it practically dried as soon as the brush hit my nail, causing the wet polish to pull on the dry polish, making streaks that made me want to tear my hair out. I had never experienced this kind of problem with the exception of holographic nail polishes in general.

I painted my nails on Sunday with this color and so far so good – despite the 4 coats, not a chip or tip wear in sight. WOO HOO!

This particular shot makes me do a happy dance. It’s really gorgeous, n’est-ce pas?

Well, hello pretty light lime green! I see the holographic trying to come out. It’s peeking out on my ring finger, dying to come out and play. Soon, my pretty…very soon.

Morning sunlight said, “Now you can come out and play!” And play my holographic polish did.
