Part of the reason why I had been sitting on this for so long is mostly because it is, for the most part, a Chanel Peridot dupe. There really is no way to say it nicely. It’s not unoriginal. It’s not groundbreaking. It’s not something that you must have. If you want a Chanel Peridot dupe, then Ciate Oil Slick 088 isn’t it for you. It’s pricey – over $10. You’re better off getting China Glaze’s Rare & Radiant for a fraction of the cost. You can even get the brand that shall not be named‘s Just Spotted the Lizard – it’s cheaper, too. I think you know who I mean. I won’t be mentioning the name. I know, silly me. I’m still upset that they’re no longer cruelty-free.
Despite the somewhat hefty price tag, I have to say the formula is pretty awesome — it dried quickly, despite my heavy handed ways. I also purchased another Ciate color that I will be featuring sometime soon and the formula on that was pretty awesome as well. The formula for Ciate Oil Slick was smooth – almost a little too smooth to the point where I felt like I could be a little reckless. I know it sounds silly and lame, but that’s how I felt when applying it.
Come and have a look at the color and tell me what you think.
As always, click the image to bring it up to its original size.

Vas-y!
See the pretty green/gold/blue flash here in this Shade2 shot?
See how in the Sun shot it’s a green/blue, but in the Sun2 it’s a green/gold? Very pretty, but so unoriginal. 🙁
