China Glaze Love Marilyn and Marry A Millionaire

This is part of China Glaze’s Eye Candy collection, which is a limited edition collection.

I was going to swatch this entire collection (you know, all 6 colors) yesterday, but life kind of got in the way. My husband left for a business trip to Vancouver and as luck would have it, not only did I drive him into the office at noon because he had been in conference calls since 7:30am and still had to pack, but I had to go back to his office a few hours later to take him to the airport. Comcast decided to upgrade their cable modems, but failed to let us, as customers, know. So who’s running a modem that we’ve been renting for the past oh…let me see…seven-ish years? That would be us. Guess whose modem is incompatible with the upgrades? Oh, that would be us again. DING DING DING! We win the prize – a stuffed animal. Long story short, I ended up buying a new cable modem and spending a good 45minutes to one hour on the phone so they could sync the modem and register it…UGH. So no swatching done. I woke up this morning to…rain. So I only have 2 colors to share with you.

I’m not a fan of glitter, but when China Glaze did Glitter! two years ago, I was pretty impressed. So impressed I purchased some bottles of it. So I was a bit excited when I saw Eye Candy. Historically, China Glaze has done fabulous glitter polishes, even though I really avoided glitters up until about two years ago. It’s that whole removal thing. I’m lazy. I admit it!

This is supposed to be a 3D glitter, but it really doesn’t seem very 3D to me? I guess it has to be mega obvious or I just don’t get it.

Happy Veterans Day. Thanks to you and your families for the sacrifices you’ve made to serve and protect our country.

As always, click the image to enlarge. It should take you to a much larger picture when you click it. After that, click the image again and you will have it in full scary glory.

First up is my Friday Red. It’s called Love Marilyn. I’m not too keen on this…it’s round red glitter with silver hexagonal glitter thrown in to break up the redness. The formula got really thick and lumpy very fast. It dried quickly, but still…I used 2 top coats and found that this was a pretty thirsty little glitter polish.

Macro glitter shot

This actually was a real sparkler when the sun hit it. However, I think my camera kills the glare of the sparkles somehow.

This is Marry A Millionaire. I think out of this collection, this is my favorite color of glitter. It appeals to the purple lover in me, but it also has some super fun bar glitter that flashes a sea-green thing. I can’t describe it, but it really just kept calling to me. I couldn’t say no.

Oh my. Grande macro shot…All the better for you to appreciate it, my dear.

Overall this is a pretty collection and once the sun comes up again – I’m hoping Sunday – I will be able to get the other 4 colors for you so you can see them all.
