Literary Lacquers Literary Liquors Collection are colors based on drinks found in various novels…taken from Literary Lacquers’ Etsy shop page describing the polishes:
This collection was inspired by the many cocktails found in literature, from the fictional Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster, to the futuristic Strawberry Ice Cream Soma, to the classic literary intoxicant of choice, the martini.
Two At the Very Most (not pictured)Â – Martini inspired glitter topcoat. Black, white, silver, gunmetal and a touch of green circle glitter
Strawberry Ice Cream Soma – Warm pink subtle linear holographic
Dandelion Wine – Golden mustard subtle linear holo with a pinky-orange color shift.Â
Jack Rose – Copper with a strong linear holo, this is more sheer and needs 3 coats
I’m Drinking Stars – Champage with a strong linear holo. It can be worn alone at 3 coats and makes a fabulous holo topcoat at one coat
Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster – Deep turquoise blue with subtle linear holo with added holo glitter
All the colors below are 3 coats which dried quickly and with minimal bubbling. On some colors, I didn’t wait five minutes between coats and just put one over the other, which caused the bubbling. I was being a bit forgetful. :/ Oops.
As always, please click on the image which will double in size…then click on the image again (it will triple in size!) to view the photo in its original size. I will try to keep them in order as listed above.

Gorgeous strong holo in direct sunlight.

Subtle holo, but such a gorgeous color. Pity this shade of yellow isn’t flattering for my skin tone. That said, I love this color. This is my favorite out of all of them. I love the color shift in this.

Hello, pretty play of colors.
Out of all the polishes in this collection, this had one of the stronger holos. This color was a bit too warm for my skin, but I’m tempted to say forget it and wear it anyway due to the holo goodness.

While I bit sheer even at three coats, I’m thinking this is one that would be good for layering. I’m going to have to give it a shot.

This was the best holo shot I could get of this shade. Stupid sun and clouds. The fires in California have really been wreaking havoc on my swatching. I’m just hoping people are safe!
Will you be buying Literary Lacquers Literary Liquors? I know I’ll be purchasing Two at the Very Most as well as the full-sized versions of Strawberry Ice Cream Soma, I’m Drinking Stars and Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster.
Someone asked me why I don’t use a light box – I’ll be honest: I don’t think light boxes truly reflect what a color is like in real life. While I think a light box can get you prettier, edgier shots of a polish, I don’t think it’s very realistic. So while my images may not be as richly saturated with jewel tones or deep hues, you are getting a real-life look at the polish in action.
Thank you for making it this far. If you liked what you read, please share this – sharing is caring!
À bientôt!
