I had seen the PR for this collection and I wasn’t too impressed save for Chanel Vertigo #563. It looked like, to me, the browner, more chocolate version of Chanel’s Paradoxal. In some other pictures I’ve seen of this color, there was this freakin’ awesome shimmer that ran through it…and I fell in luuuuurve. Rushed my butt and got myself a bottle of Chanel Vertigo because hey – it looked like it was going to be this awesome addition to my ever growing polish collection. Much to my husband’s chagrin, by the way!
I was a bit disappointed, but to be honest I keep hoping that maybe I just got a bunk bottle. The shimmer wasn’t so prevalent as it was in other bloggers’ pictures I’ve been looking at. In the sunlight, this color is quite pretty and I love it, but in the shade it just looks so boring and blah.
As always, please click on the image to see the original size.
Next up is Chanel Suspicious #561. What makes Chanel Suspicious suspicious to me (hah! did  you see me trying to be sneaky and cute? No? ok, never mind!) is that it was looking a bit too much like their past Spring 2012 Collection and the color is called Tentation. This color is something of a bit of a pain for me – I love it, yet hate it. Sometimes it can look good on me and other times it ages my skin something ugly and fierce. Tentation did that. Chanel Suspicious, however, is another story. Have a look at the swatches below and tell me what you think.
Last up is Chanel Frenzy #559…and this one is the most conservative one of them all. It reminded me of Silly Putty. It was a bit of a letdown. I was hoping that it would be the kind that would rock the collection. However, I think that they were hoping Chanel Vertigo and Chanel Suspicious would be ones to carry the collection and then throwing in Chanel Frenzy would be a bit of a nod to the conservative color pickers out there. It reminded me of some colors of a brand that I used to feature on my blog – my favorite one was Tickle My France-y. I guess they were hoping that Chanel Frenzy would cause a bit of a…frenzy?
What do you think of Chanel Frenzy?
Formula on this was not bad, but it could’ve been better.
These Chanel polishes retail for $23.00 each. A bit steep considering that you could possibly find something extremely similar for a better price.
