China Glaze Love Marilyn Sun

The sun came a-shinin’ on Sunday so I took full advantage of it and swatched China Glaze’s Eye Candy Collection.

I included the swatches from the previous Friday Red collection so no one has to go back and look for it!

Now that I’ve got the whole collection in front of me, the only thing I can think when I look at this collection is…wow. I’m not sure if that’s in a good or bad way. I read from the press release it was supposed to be 3D glitter. Maybe I’m dense, but I failed to see the 3D-ness of this. I guess it’s because I’ve always considered glitter 3D – always in your face and always popping, you know?

At any rate, Loreleai’s Tiara, Blonde Bombshell, Material Girl and Some Like It Haute are all 3 coats. I used two on Love Marilyn and Marry A Millionaire. I needed a bit of help with the glitter because it soaked up some of my top coat. Glitters tend to be really thirsty, I’ve found. I hate that gritty feeling even when you’ve used 2 coats of a fast drying top coat.

I’m a bit up in the air over this collection – I love it, yet am incredibly ambivalent about it. I don’t know if that makes sense. I guess it’s because I’m finally coming around and admitting to myself that I love glitters. I know I’ve always said I don’t like them, but that’s the lazy girl in me talking. I hate the removal. I always feel wasteful when I take it off because I use a cotton ball and a piece of foil. I do the silly finger mitt thing. One day I’ll take a picture. Oh, and I hate using acetone…so that’s the real reason I hate wearing glitter polish.

As usual, please click the image. It will take you to the larger version of it…and if you click it in the new window, it will give you the original size. Much easier than before – believe me! I’ve been clicking on my own photos because I’m that silly. *blush*

At any rate, here is the entire collection in all its glory…enjoy!

Shiny, happy glitter. The camera totally tried to drown out the glitter, but the glitter and shimmer couldn’t be kept down.

I found that I like Lorelai’s Tiara the best out of the six glitters…I have this mad love for silver and blue together.
