OPI – Comet Loves Cupid
Friday, 14 January, 2011This is what happens when you buy stuff in chunks of 20-40 bottles at a time worrying you won’t have enough polishes to swatch for nearly everyday of the week.
I think my problem regarding that has been taken care of. For now.
This shade of red vaguely reminded me of a candy cane red with a tinge of orange in it.
You be the judge!
NFU Oh – #66
Thursday, 13 January, 2011I showed you NFU Oh #65 last week…this is its way cool, lightly greener, but not meaner sister to #66.
Again, my only complaint about this is the odd application and the inability for it to be even remotely easy to work with. Drying time is like #65 – fast. Incredibly fast. Zippily fast. Well, you get the idea.
Illamasqua – Phallic
Wednesday, 12 January, 2011However, on me it’s a whole other story…
Ginger & Liz Who’s The Boss?
Tuesday, 11 January, 2011Yet another gorgeous purple that Ginger & Liz have knocked out of the ballpark! I’m so bad at application, but I love how even with my worst applications, Ginger & Liz still look halfway decent on me. This was an awesome plum shade that delivered.
I don’t know what’s happened in the past year and a half, but I’ve picked up some serious love for purple polishes. When they keep looking this good and with this kind of application, I’ll keep falling for them and buying them!
Formula for Ginger & Liz Whos The Boss was great – high gloss on the first and second coats that dried quickly in between. Opaque in two coats. Woo hoo!
Ginger & Liz Whos The Boss – Sunlight. I swear, I ruined the photos because of the cuticle oil. You can’t see the super high glossy shine of this color.
Inglot – #855
Monday, 10 January, 2011This is another bottle that I had purchased for my friend Kelly while I was living in India. I keep telling myself I have to send it back to her. I will, I promise, K!
The formula was good and dried quickly. This was opaque in 2 coats.
Sephora by OPI – Merry Me
Friday, 7 January, 2011I know this is a Christmas color – the name gives it away, but it doubles pretty darn good as a Valentine’s Day red, too.
I thought it was very pretty, despite the fact it is a glitter. I hated the removal. It took me a while…for some reason, this formula and the glitter were particularly stubborn. It took a while to dry in between coats – about 15 minutes. I did two coats because I was feeling particularly impatient. I even did two coats of a high gloss topcoat (Posche). The glitter beneath was still grainy and came through.
It’s a gorgeous red glitter.
Chanel – Brown Sugar
Thursday, 6 January, 2011I know I’ve gone on and on about Chanel’s Brown Sugar. I did a search for Brown Sugar in my blog and I found three instances of where it’s mentioned. I know I’d have mentioned it a lot more but editing saved you from having to read about it everyday. Now friends of mine, on the other hand. I’ve more than bent their ears on it. Frankly, I think I think I abused them. LOL.
I’ll dig up Violette and let you look at them to see. I will eventually do a side by side comparison, but for now here is my one true nail polish love.
