I’ve always been a fan of Illamasqua polishes. In fact, I have so many of them in my untrieds. Sad but true. I have the entire Seance collection, but haven’t had the chance to swatch them. I’ve worn them, but never had the opportunity to take pictures of them.
When I first saw the images for Illamasqua Facet, I knew it was one of those must have things in my collection. Like Jo’Mina. Ever worn it? No? You should. It’s lovely!
Illamasqua Facet is described as a grey crystal. It’s a taupe base color mixed with flecks of copper with a gold sparkle and shimmer – it’s gorgeous! I couldn’t purchase it here in the US and I ended up having a friend in the UK purchase it for me and bring it to me when she came here for vacation. Now I have this lovely beauty in my grubby little paws.
Illamasqua Facet was opaque in two coats and was a quick drying formula. It went on absolutely smooth…like butter!
I’m going to use the big girl pictures here for this because, to be honest, using anything smaller for the thumbnails of Illamasqua Facet would really do the color some serious injustice!

Someone asked me why I don’t use a light box – I’ll be honest: I don’t think light boxes truly reflect what a color is like in real life. While I think a light box can get you prettier, edgier shots of a polish, I don’t think it’s very realistic. So while my images may not be as richly saturated with jewel tones or deep hues, you are getting a real-life look at the polish in action.
