Last bit of Ginger & Liz stash – Boy Toy and Tough Luxe

I’m showing the last 2 G&L colors I’ve got – Boy Toy and Tough Luxe. Hope you like them. 🙂

This color actually looked halfway decent on me given my skin tone and color. I found the application for a color like this unusually smoother and easier than colors of this type. Only 2 coats were needed and it wasn’t streaky. I do believe the brush helped with the overall application. What the pictures fail to show is the extremely faint shimmer that runs through this nail polish. That faint shimmer keeps the shade from being dull and lifeless.

I love this color – it’s a dusty grey with a golden shimmer. It looks impressive in the picture and it’s even more incredible in real life. This is one shad that does not fail.

OPI – At Your Quebec and Call AND Rainforest

Someone I know has had this color for a while when I had been on the hunt for it.  I finally was able to swatch it a few months ago but forgot to put it up. Then the person just gave me the bottle, citing they don’t really wear polish so what’s the point of having it around? So I grabbed it and ran before she could even change her mind. Thank you! 😀

At Your Quebec and Call is one of those greens that you can still find if you’re looking hard enough…on eBay. It’s not as pricey as OPI’s Rainforest. See the colors below!

A very pretty green-gold, don’t you think? And the shimmer through it is absolutely gorgeous.

I forgot how badly nail polish smelled before most lines went 3 Free. When I put this on, I nearly passed out from the fumes. It was, quite literally, that bad. Drying time on this made me want to gouge my eyes out. The fidgety girl in me was dying at the 30 minute mark…on the first coat. It wasn’t even a heavy application. A heavy application was near impossible because of the runny formula. I’m used to 3 Free and I’ll keep it that way. However, I’m glad I’ve got this bottle in my stash!

Happy early Easter. While I am off to Carmel to spend Easter lunch with my aunts, uncles and cousins I wanted to leave you with an Easter-y color that isn’t a pastel.

I now present you with…

Perfectly Easter without being obnoxious. I love this color. The silvery shimmer running through it keeps it from being a plain old not-quite-pastel blue. Isn’t it just gorgeous? I love it.

Lovely color! I kept thinking of the ocean when I put this on. Sadly, my skin tone doesn’t like it on me. 🙁

Boo over cast days! Did my best to get what I could, but the shade and overcast are frighteningly similar.  Much as I loved this color, it’s not for me. I should’ve known better! However, I can still believe it’s a gorgeous, gorgeous color…just not on me.

China Glaze – Sour Apple and Electric Lilac

Surprise~ April Fool! Only fool here was me thinking these colors would rock it on my nail. Only saving grace for these? They dried quickly.

Yea. Hm. With a name like Electric Lilac, I expect you to be electric. And lilac. I wouldn’t quite call this lilac. I would venture to call this a light purple. Glitter was ok on it, but this wasn’t worth the few dollars I shelled out for it. Maybe I didn’t shake it enough. Nah, I know I did. This was the color at 3 coats. I wasn’t in the mood to go for 4.

When I put this on, I kept thinking, “Wow…delayed St. Patrick’s Day for me.” Flecks of green and gold glitter suspended in a not quite neon green jelly base. I think I’m getting too old and fussy for certain types of glitter. I can accept that. This didn’t wow me.

Butter – Thames

I’ll be honest, when I think of the Thames, this isn’t the color. The Thames wishes it were this pretty. Nice subtle shimmer that saves the polish from being dull and lifeless. Another not-so-awful-smelling polish, too! Took forever to dry, though. Hm…What’s up with that?

I found this gem amongst my many bottles of nail polish…and I remembered why I fell in love with it. In the bottle it’s a bit uninspiring, but on the nails…oh, baby! 🙂

Ginger & Liz – New Money and Chase Me

Now, I really must apologize in advance for the bad manicure and nail polish application…I was sick last week and in my hazy moments I honestly thought the nails looked good…even when I was outside taking the pics! I was *still* convinced right up until about 15 minutes ago when I started cropping and watermarking the pictures. A million apologies.

One coat and it looks beautiful. However, it’s not glossy. I wondered if this was meant to be a Wax Coat and wasn’t labeled?

Prettier and  more accurate view of the color without top coat in its semi-gloss/semi-matte state.

So I really shouldn’t be allowed to paint my nails while I’m sick and I am clearly not a leftie when it comes to being able to do things. 🙂 That said, isn’t this color just beautiful?!
