aEngland Ascalon

aEngland Ascalon holds a tiny special place in my heart, but not for the reasons one would think…

I love my mother…I love her dearly and while we differ on political, social, economic and religious views, I still love her. How did she infiltrate this post? Why…because when she was born, her original name had been Ascalon. Fancy that. However, people in her country were always mangling her name and she was teased profusely for it. One day, her father finally realized just how badly she was teased. Sadly, he changed her name to what it is now.

Funnily enough, my mother almost named me Ascalon, as well. However, she decided to name me as her diminutive, like her Mini-Me. It’s why I was named Carina.

Anyway, enough about my mom and me and let’s get down to the nitty gritty of this post – it’s all about the polish, babes.

aEngland Ascalon is this gorgeous gun-metal gray that has a lot going on. I mean a lot. First, it’s a gray. Second, it’s a duochrome. Third, it’s holographic. WHAT WHAT WHAT? Yup, yup. Gray, duochrome, holographic. You read right.

Formula on this ROCKED. It dried fast. Didn’t bubble. Was a dream in clean-up. Opaque in two coats.

Love, love, LUUUUUURVE this color.

I hope you find this color as gorgeous as I do. Enjoy.

Hello, pretty gray nail polish.

The flash brought out some of the duochrome goodness. See that soupçon of lavender on my middle and pinkie finger? It makes my naughty bits tingle.

This shot excites and confuses me. Holo scatter! Lavender flash! OMG – I don’t know where to look or how to feel!!1! Actually, I feel pretty damn good that I was able to capture it.

Blurry shot, but only so you can fully appreciate the holo prettiness.

What do you think of this color?

Thank you for making it this far. If you liked what you read, please share this – sharing is caring!

À bientôt!
