Dior Destin 382

Monday, 19 August, 2013

Dior Destin 382 was this surprise that really knocked me for a loop.

Why? Because Dior Destin 382 is waaaay better than my beloved Chanel Brown Sugar. Like I think this makes it take a back seat to it.

I was absolutely blown away by Dior Destin 382 – it’s got a bit more of a violet tinge that makes it much more palatable than Chanel Violette.

Dior Destin 382 is part of Dior’s Fall 2013 Mystic Metallics collection and while I admit I’m not sure the color of Destiny is this color, I do feel like I’ve come full circle in finding this. I will have to get a couple of back-ups because I foresee myself wearing this color quite frequently in the coming days and weeks leading to fall.

I admit that I’m one of the few people that don’t like the new Dior brush. I only say that because I have small nail beds and the brush really kind of goes all over the place and puts polish on my skin and cuticles. However, I’ll suck it up because I’m loving Dior Destin 382 so much! I started wearing the color late last week as a swatch test, but had to remove it to make way for other colors I had to do…but now I’m going to let this sit on my fingers for a while.

Formula was a bit moody – it took a bit longer to dry than I would’ve liked. I was also impatient…so that probably really it. 😉 It took a little longer than five minutes for it to dry between coats.

I love this shade shot – it looks so violet/taupe-y good I just want to devour it and bathe in it.

The flash shot brings out the shimmer/frost. I am extremely happy to say that the shimmer/frost doesn’t compromise the application – there were not visible brush strokes. WHEW!

Even though the sun washed this out and faded it a bit, it still holds its own.

Someone asked me why I don’t use a light box – I’ll be honest: I don’t think light boxes truly reflect what a color is like in real life. While I think a light box can get you prettier, edgier shots of a polish, I don’t think it’s very realistic. So while my images may not be as richly saturated with jewel tones or deep hues, you are getting a real-life look at the polish in action.

Thank you for making it this far. If you liked what you read, please share this – sharing is caring!

À bientôt!
